Explore social skills, anxiety, rejection sensitivity, motivation, and different types of connection. Learn how to enter your child’s emotional world and meet them where they actually are.

Session 3: Cognitive Needs and School Fit

Discover how giftedness, learning differences, and school environment fit can affect your child. Learn how to advocate powerfully for your child in educational settings so they can truly thrive.

Session 4: Spiritual Needs & Real Self-Esteem

Explore true self-esteem, connection to Jewish values and community, mastery, and how to respond to the deep existential questions your child may ask—even when you don’t always have the answers.

Session 5: Pulling It All Together

Focus on implementation and reflection. Use everything you’ve learned to address the specific behavior you targeted in Week 1. Build a sustainable plan for connection and lasting influence.

Session 6: Question and Answer Session

Gain additional insights from the questions and experiences of fellow participants.

About Dr. Ilyssa Bass

Dr. Ilyssa Bass is a clinical psychologist passionate about helping parents connect with their most difficult children. Through her work, she offers insight, compassion, and support to parents raising complex children, including children with hidden differences who may not respond to traditional parenting approaches.

After training as a clinical psychologist at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and studying developmental psychology at Stanford University, Dr. Bass believed she was well-prepared for motherhood. But becoming a parent taught her lessons that academia never could.

As the parent of a child with multiple hidden differences, Dr. Bass has firsthand experience navigating the challenges of raising a complex child. Her personal journey has given her a deep understanding of parents who feel that conventional parenting books don’t speak to their family’s unique needs.

Dr. Bass is dedicated to helping parents better understand their children, strengthen the parent-child connection, and approach parenting challenges with greater compassion and confidence.
