Description
By joining this 6-part Jewish workshop, Step up to Your Higher Self Through the Six Constant Mitzvos with Gila Ross you will:
This series contains practical methods and class notes.
Week One:
Living with Purpose – Mitzvah 1 is the mitzvah of knowing there is a G-d.
What does the mitzvah of knowledge of G-d require of us? Why isn’t it enough to just believe in G-d? Learn how incorporating this mitzvah helps you to ride life waves with more serenity and acceptance, how to bridge the gap between your mind and your heart and easy practices to start living more mindfully.
Week Two:
Living with Focus – Mitzvah 2 requires us not to believe in other gods.
How is this mitzvah relevant to us today? We will learn how this mitzvah shows up all the time and how it requires us to focus on our life mission. What becomes possible when we can live with focus? What distracts us and why are distractions a problem?
Week Three:
Living with Unity – Mitzvah 3 is believing in G-d’s Oneness.
How is this different than mitzvah 2 – to not believe in other gods? What is this mitzvah teaching us? Ever feel like life pulls you in a million different directions? Discover why this happens and how this mitzvah helps us develop peace of mind when it happens.
Week Four:
Loving Life; Loving G-d – Mitzvah 4 – Loving G-d.
In this class we start to move from internal mindsets to relationships. We look at our emotions. How can the Torah command us to have an emotion? Can we and if so how do we influence them? We look at the tricky subject of love – what is it? And then, Loving G-d, is it possible? Can we love G-d through tough times?
Week Five:
Living with Authenticity – Mitzvah 5 – Fearing G-d.
Let’s do a deep dive into a difficult concept – fear of G-d. Should we fear G-d? If G-d loves us, why fear G-d? What does Fear of G-d actually mean? Learn how understanding this mitzvah helps you develop the courage to live with authenticity.
Week Six:
Living Successfully – Mitzvah 6 – Do not stray after your heart and your eyes.
Wait, what’s wrong with our hearts and our eyes? In this class we look at how this mitzvah gives us important skills. How many times do we know exactly what we need to do (or avoid doing) and do the complete opposite? In this class we look at the tools necessary to move from knowledge to transformation.
