An introduction to the Parts Model and how we can use it effectively to better understand ourselves and our relationship to our spouse.
Session 2: How Parts Theory Informs Relationship
An exploration into different Parts Theory models and how we can practically use them to effectively understand ourselves and our reactions.
Session 3: Parts Theory: The Inside Story and the Outside Impact
Learn how to recognize the common parts in each of us and recognize how our background affects our adult self.
Session 4: Understanding and Working with Triggers
Understand the makeup up of a trigger, the different responses to stressors, what exactly triggering is and how it works.
Session 5: When Your Spouse Triggers You
Explore common examples of triggers in a spouse, the difference between an abusive spouse and an emotionally dysregulated spouse and trauma and its relationship to triggers.
Session 6: Dealing With Triggers, Part 2
We learn of four trigger parts in children. We hear concrete examples of these and others in order to train ourselves to identify triggers as they emerge in our lives.
Session 7: Dealing With Triggers, Part 3
We compare a triggered responses to non-triggered responses and learn how to improve our own triggered responses.
Session 8: Navigating Triggers: Separate, Validate, Negotiate
We continue learning about triggers and we learn a three-step-process to help us recognize if we have been triggered.
Session 9: Forbidden Phrases: How Many Are You Using?
Learn how to sensor forbidden phrases that are likely to lead to fighting.
Session 10: Deepening Your Self-Help Protocol
Develop an awareness of our triggered responses by discovering how to unblend from our triggered part.
Session 11: Your Spouses Triggers
How to negotiate conflict with a spouse, work around spouse’s triggers, ensure permanent change and when to let things go.
Session 12: Q&A
Gain the opportunity to hear answers to some of the biggest questions affecting couples today.
